Alex Harris, PhD
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Alex Harris is a Licensed Psychologist specializing in family and child therapy, and utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to deliver comprehensive and holistic care. She provides individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Harris holds a certification in Parent Child Interaction Therapy from University of Miami. She is also certified as a specialist in Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International.
Dr. Harris’s practice integrates evidence-based intervention with individualized and compassionate care. She has experience treating a wide range of presenting problems, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, parent-child attachment issues, and family relationship concerns. Dr. Harris has worked with individuals, groups, and families in various settings, including medical centers, outpatient mental health clinics, residential facilities, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals. She has experience providing assessment and treatment for a range of clinical presentations.
Dr. Harris completed her postdoctoral fellowship under the supervision of Drs. Margaret Vadiee and Katie Sardone at Behavioral Health Dallas. Dr. Harris completed her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University, an APA-accredited program. While engaged in the doctoral program, Dr. Harris worked in outpatient clinic settings, residential facilities, and in hospital clinics. She also completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at University of Miami, where she specialized in individual and family therapy with clients in the Miami-Dade area. She also obtained advanced training in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, supervision, and parent training. Dr. Harris received her master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Women’s Gender Studies from Emory University.
