Licensed Professional Counselor- Associate
Kate Melle is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Katie Nix, M.A., LPC-S and management of Margaret Vadiee, PhD. Ms. Melle provides psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and young adults. She specializes in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), eating disorders, and concerns related to perfectionism, self-esteem, and life transitions. Ms. Melle takes a collaborative, compassionate, and individualized approach to therapy, believing that meaningful change begins with feeling supported and understood.
Ms. Melle has specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), an evidence-based treatment for OCD, and is particularly passionate about helping children, adolescents, and their families understand the signs and symptoms of anxiety and mood disorders. Through parent education and coaching, Ms. Melle helps the entire family unit feel educated, equipped, and empowered to approach treatment and recovery.
Ms. Melle also utilizes narrative therapy, play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) in her work. She has experience with the foster care system, separation anxiety, and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). She often utilizes the tenants of Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions or SPACE to provide care for the family unit as a whole.
Ms. Melle earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in children and adolescents, from Marquette University in 2025. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Social Welfare and Justice from Marquette University.
Ms. Melle is provisionally licensed in the state of Texas under the supervision of Katie Nix, M.A., LPC-S as she completes her post-licensure training at BHD.
