Maternal Mental Health & Fertility
Support for women at all stages.
We work with women at various stages of life and differing lifestyles.
Whether you're searching for support with relationships, health, identity, or navigating changes from pregnancy to perimenopause, we're here to help.
Perinatal Issues
For many women, the pregnancy and postpartum period brings substantial changes in roles, relationships, and expectations for themselves and their families. Some women experience difficulties with mood and anxiety, or they may have thoughts and concerns that can be uncomfortable or stressful.
These feelings can occur at any point during pregnancy or the postpartum period. These emotional difficulties often go unnoticed or are associated with shameful feelings. BHD supports women during all phases of family planning and pregnancy to relieve symptoms, address concerns in a non-judgmental setting, and make the transition easier for the whole family.
When you partner with our providers, you're gaining comprehensive wisdom and practical experience from their extensive training and years in practice specializing in maternal mental health. All providers within the group are certified in Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International and daily work with women's health needs.
First, you'll receive a comprehensive evaluation to help create your evidence-informed treatment plan. With your permission, we will collaborate with your care team (e.g., Ob-Gyn, PCP, and/or psychiatrist) to optimize your treatment approach.
If you or someone you care about is struggling during pregnancy or the postpartum period, we're happy to connect with you to discuss our treatment approach in more detail.
Fertility Concerns
Women and couples coping with infertility face complex psychological challenges that can impact each individual as well as the relationship as a whole. We have experience supporting our patients through the unique challenges of the medical processes and emotions associated with fertility treatments, such as IUI, IVF, or surrogacy. At BHD, you'll find a variety of specific treatment options to help you and your partner or spouse manage the stress that comes with infertility.
BHD offers support for you and your partner with these goals in mind:
Share concerns in a supportive, non-judgmental, and neutral environment
Evaluate for anxiety and mood concerns
Increase coping strategies with proven tools
Learn mindfulness and relaxation skills to use at any time or before a procedure
Process grief and losses
Increase social support and connect with others who have struggled with similar issues
Understand the impact on relationships — family, friendships, intimate

When appropriate, we can collaborate with fertility specialists (reproductive endocrinologists) to offer comprehensive and supportive care.
